September 2012: The fourth client development trip September 16th through 30th as part of the cooperation between The Villamar Firm and Procopé & Hornborg was a huge success! The trip included Carlos Villamar’s lecture at JAMK University regarding IPR issues with respect to HRM, which was very well received. Many more new Finnish start ups, universities and incubators, including Aalto and Laurea are now on the horizon and with further trips to other technical hubs in Finland planned for November 2012.

June 2012: The third client development trip May 26th through June 9th as part of the cooperation between The Villamar Firm and Procopé & Hornborg was a huge success! Many new Finnish start ups, universities and incubators were visited regarding “Legal Issues With Respect To Video Gaming Technologies: What every gaming company should know.” The fourth trip to Finland is now set for September 2012 so stay tuned!

May 2012: The third client development trip as part of the cooperation between The Villamar Firm and Procopé & Hornborg is now set for May 26th through June 9th. The agenda regarding “Legal Issues With Respect To Video Gaming Technologies: What every gaming company should know,” will include presentations at various start up companies and incubators, University lectures, and a breakfast seminar at Procopé & Hornborg.

March 2012: Dr. Barbara Villamar’s lectures at JAMK University were a huge success, so stayed tuned for news regarding future lectures.

February 2012: The second client development trip February 1st through 15th as part of the cooperation between The Villamar Firm and Procopé & Hornborg was a huge success! Many new Finnish start ups and universities are now on the horizon and with further trips to Finland, India, and St. Petersburg planned for late may to early June 2012. Dr. Barbara Villamar will also be returning to JAMK University this month to lecture on International Business Law.

January 2012: The second client development trip as part of the cooperation between The Villamar Firm and Procopé & Hornborg is now set for February 1st through 15th. The agenda regarding “Maximizing Worldwide Intellectual Property Rights Protection While Minimizing Costs,” will include presentations at various start up companies and incubators, a lecture at JAMK University, and a breakfast seminar at Procopé & Hornborg.

December 2011: The Villamar Firm is now planning the second client development trip with Procopé & Hornborg as part of their cooperation for early February. Details forthcoming.

October 2011: The IP 101 course developed by The Villamar Firm for JAMK University is now being offered at Protomo a Finnish start-up incubator company!

September 2011: The Villamar Firm goes to Riyadh and Dubai to market the super efficient, US made solid state LED lighting technology of its green client Eco Lumens!

October 2010: Mr. Villamar returned from his trip to Finland and is in process of establishing an Office in Helsinki as based on a cooperation with one of the oldest, most prestigious law firms in Finland. Mr. Villamar’s duties will include developing Global Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) strategies with emphasis on the United States for the Finnish firm’s high tech start ups and clients. In addition, both Mr. Villamar and Dr. Villamar have been invited to work as lecturers at JAMK University for respective courses in the areas of IPR and International Business Law.

September 2010: Mr. Villamar will be once again traveling toFinland September 26th to October 10th, 2010 to discuss In re Bilski at a Legal Forum hosted by The American Chamber of Commerce in Finland and to develop an IP course at JAMK University and meet start ups regarding various issues in IP Law. Mr. Villamar’s calendar is now full and this should promise to be another very exciting trip!

May 2010: The trip to Finland was very exciting, including a speaking engagement hosted by the US Embassy, lectures at JAMK University, and with The Villamar Firm PLLC in process of establishing IP operations in Finland! Read more about the trip on LinkedIn here.

April 2010: Mr. Villamar will be traveling to Finland April 7th to the 18th, 2010 to lecture before universities and start ups regarding various issues in IP Law. Mr. Villamar’s calendar is now full and this should promise to be a very exciting trip!
